How much does your credit score increase when you pay off an auto loan?

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

The last time I viewed my credit report, it did not have my auto loan as paid off. I had paid it off about a week before my credit report was pulled. Does anyone know how much that will increase my credit score? My FICO score was 545 and I am wondering if it will increase significant enough to be considered for a home loan. I know the score is pretty low, but you never know with the housing market today.

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

I also have about 4 other credit cards with zero balance that I have left open to show good standing and lines of credit. I was told that wamu had a credit card that allows you to view your credit report and score. Is this true or is there some other company to check into about this?

Does it affect your credit score if you request a credit report just for your information?

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

I know it affects your credit score negatively everytime you APPLY for something (car, loan, credit card) and they check your credit report to see if you qualify and you end up not qualifying.

But does it affect your credit score if you request your own credit report just FOR YOUR INFORMATION, to make sure everything is accurate? I know it costs you money, but does it affect your credit score?
